Famed S. Korean Model Found Dead In Paris Apartment, Victim Of Possible Suicide

Ayinde O. Chase – AHN Editor Paris, France (AHN) – A famed South Korean model has been found dead in her Paris apartment. Investigators believe the beauty may have hung herself. According to published reports friends found the rising star in her apartment. Police have yet to confirm cause of death and are hesitant to confirm suicide reports. A police spokesman confirms the investigation is ongoing. Reportedly the last entry on her Internet blog, “I Like To Fork Myself” — posted Wednesday at 0641 GMT a day before her death, hada headline that read ’say hi to forever.’ She also posted a link to a video of the song “I Go Deep” by British singer Jim Rivers. which some of her fans interpreted as a suicide note. A profile of her which ran in the fashion section of New York magazine, Kim posted the quote: ‘I’m usually very miserable, so I reward myself with a fur coat every year. ‘ Her agency in South Korea, Esteem, said in a statement: “We express deep condolences to Daul Kim’s family,” it said, asking everyone to respect her family’s privacy at this time of mourning. Kim modeled for most of the top fashion designers, including Vivienne Westwood, Dolce and Gabbana and Alexander McQueen. This past summer she graced the runway for Chanel’s fall haute couture show in Paris. She was highly regarded in the industry, however she seemingly showed disdain in her professional and personal life. In one post on her blog from late October she wrote that she was “getting mad depressed and overworked.”  In another posting she revealed that “the more i gain the more lonely it is … i know i’m like a ghost.” Her death comes amidst a string of high profile South Korean suicides that have garnered international headlines over the last year. Rormer president Roh Moo-hyun killed himself in May after becoming ensnared in a public corruption scandal.
